Eating disorders is a condition that describes unbalanced eating behavior and severe concern about their body shape or weight.

People who suffer from this may experience strong guilty feeling embarrassment and distress. Anorexia Nervosa. People who suffer this type of disorder may experience fear in maintaining their healthy body and gaining weight. Many people who experience Anorexia Nervosa limit the food they are eating and always see themselves as obese even though they are underweight. Anorexia can damage the brain, failure of several organs, bone loss, infertility and heart difficulties. Bulimia Nervosa. It is life threatening and serious eating disorder distinguished by a cycle of obsessive eating followed by some means of removal. This may lead to dangerous changes in one’s body. Chemical imbalances may lead to a heart attack or stroke and even the young ones can experience chemical imbalance. What are the causes of Eating Disorder? Eating disorders may influenced by different factors. Although no one knows what the exact cause of this disorder was, it is believed that the cause of this condition is the combination of psychological, environmental and biological abnormalities. The physician must first identify and consider some factors such as the type of eating disorder, family environment, age, mental, physical condition and social problem. Person Centered care is identified as the most effective method in treating a patient who is suffering from eating disorder. This type of treatment addresses all facets of eating disorder such as psychological, physical, social and behavioral factor. Therapy. A person who suffers eating disorder can undergo therapy. According to study, undergoing therapies like art, dance, and behavioral, family and medical nutrition therapy are also considered to cure this type condition. Medications. Resolving anxiety symptoms which leads to eating disorder may prevent by taking medications prescribed by a licensed health professionals.
